Everyone’s favourite anthropomorphic mayoral simulator, Animal Crossing: New Leaf added a host of new features recently, including Amiibo support. During the Animal Crossing Direct that announced these features, we caught a glimpse of Epona, Ganon, Wolf Link and Medli appearing as villagers in town, and it now transpires that the recently released 30th Anniversary Zelda Amiibo will give you the chance to invite some of these guys to join your menagerie.
Scanning the 30th Anniversary 8-bit Link, Ocarina of Time Link, or either of the Wind Waker figures into the game, will see Ganon, Epona or Medli respectively, arrive in the recently added campsite. Players can then invite those characters to move into town permanently. Anyone who has the Wolf Link Amiibo that came packaged with the HD version of Twilight Princess for Wii U can also scan in to have Wolf Link pull up in his RV.
There’s also a host of series-specific items to pick up via these characters, including Gossip Stones, chests, and the moon from Majora’s Mask.
I’ve yet to jump into the update, knowing full well that doing so will see my time played for the game rocket past the already 350 odd hours I’ve accumulated in ‘Libertas’, but boy do I want to move Epona in next to my Hyrule Castle-themed house. Who’s moving who into their New Leaf towns? Let us know in the comments, and feel free to add your Dream codes so we can come and check out your towns!
