Following last week’s reveal trailer for the
NX Nintendo Switch, Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima announced to financial analysts that there will be a presentation with further information in January.
Following the three and a half minute trailer, Nintendo had said that they wouldn’t be revealing any more information until next year, but fortunately we won’t have too long to wait; nor will we have yet more months of speculation about when exactly we’ll get more Switch news. The event will be streamed live on January 12, 2017, and will give more information on Nintendo’s newest entry in the console market, including a solid release date, price point, and a look at the software currently in development for the system.
Furthermore, Kimishima stated that invited consumers, media, and partners will get to go hands-on with the device shortly after the presentation, with plans for the public to be able to try out the new console at hands-on events, too. Thankfully, we’ve only got a couple of months to overcome — helped along by the distraction of the holidays — before we learn more about the next Nintendo box to sit under our TVs. And in our backpacks. And at our rooftop parties.
